Welcome to Roehampton Garden Society. We manage 275 allotment plots across two sites for Wandsworth residents.

We also hold two annual shows - in June and September - with a wide choice of classes for flowers, vegetables, cookery, novices and children.

Friendly advice for gardening problems and a full selection of gardening products are available for all members at our store.

Our Allotments

We manage two allotment sites in SW15 on behalf of Enable/ Wandsworth Borough Council.

Site 2

Site 2 is at 18A The Pleasance, London, SW15 5HF.

Site 3

Site 3 is at 162 Doverhouse Road, London, SW15 5AR.

The Store

The Store is located on Site 2 and is usually open on Sundays between 10am and 12pm.

On Site 3, composts and many other items are available from the storage sheds near the Dover House Road entrance on Sundays between 10:30am and 12:15pm.

Both outlets are staffed by our volunteers.

Allotment plotholders are full members of RGS, but we have many associate members who garden from home. There is currently a waiting list for allotments/ full membership, but you can join as an associate member at any time.

Ever wondered why some countries call aubergines “eggplants”? 🍆🥚🌱 Wonder no more!

Did you know that the first plants sent to America were white, and they were thought to resemble goose eggs, hence the name!

July is a busy month for allotment holders, but gives you the chance to reap the rewards of your labours. 🧑‍🌾🙌

Lots of crops, such as runner beans, potatoes and raspberries are ready to harvest. 🍓🍅🫛

But it is also a time for planning ahead for months later in the year. Now is the time to sow winter crops, including potatoes for Christmas. 🥔

The weather in July can be fickle. If there’s a drought, you’ll need to prioritise which crops to water, and if it’s damp, you’ll need to watch out for tomato blight! 👀🦠
