Allotment Costs
Allotment Rental Costs
New tenants are usually offered plots of 2 to 3.5 rods. A 'rod' means a 'square rod' which equates to 25.3 square metres.
The annual charges per rod are as follows:
-
£30.60 (Standard rate)
-
£21.40 (65 and over reduced rate)
-
£15.30 (Access for All concession rate)
Rents are due on 1 April of each year. Invoices are sent by email in February of each year.
Annual rental costs are set by Enable (Wandsworth Borough Council) and are subject to change.
The cost usually increases each year.
RGS Annual Membership
All allotment plotholders automatically become full RGS members. The annual membership fee for full members is £8.
Access for All
If you are in receipt of benefits you may be eligible for a discounted plot fee through Wandsworth's 'Access for All' scheme.
To claim a discount you will need to show an AfA membership card.
To apply for the AfA membership card go to:

Additional costs
In additional to the annual allotment rental cost and RGS membership fee, there are additional costs for insurance and water charges which add up to approx. £10-15 per year.
Overall, the average plotholder currently pays between £75-120 per year, dependent on the number of rods they have.
Plot sizes
New tenants are usually offered plots of 2 to 3.5 rods. Historically plots varied between 1 and 10 rods.
As plots become vacant, we consider dividing them, whilst taking into account the long-term manageability and integrity of the whole site.
